David Matthew Rainwater, 31, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at his residence.

David was born December 18, 1985 in Joliet, the son Sheila and Pat Courville of Buffalo IL.

David had two dogs Wayne and Clint that he loved very much.  He loved gardening with his Grandpa who was everything to him and they shared a lot of good times together.  He had a passion for cooking and grilling out on one of his three grills.  He had a knack for creating and cooking the best food which he learned from his Granny as she would always have him help her in the kitchen. He loved wood working and building furniture that he had designed himself.   His was a cowboy in all sense of the word, he enjoyed his guns, target shooting and collected different knives. His mother called him her “little Indian boy”.  He loved John Wayne and his dream was to go live in Texas. David had a very strong will and he could talk you into anything! He treasured the canoe trips that he took with his friends, enjoyed playing video games and loved all kinds of music. He never met a stranger, was an avid reader, loved a good movie, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara B Rainwater.

He is survived by his mother, Sheila Courville; father, Pat Courville; grandfather, Gaile E. Rainwater; step-sisters, Stacey, Brooke and Samantha Courville; aunt, Anita B Vespie; cousin, Emily Ann Vespie; uncle, Ed Rainwater and wife Brenda; and niece and nephews, Madaline Grace, Nicholas Patrick and T.J

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
