Heather Joye (Mayse) Knudsen

Heather Joye (Mayse) Knudsen of Springfield, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Heather was born in Kingsville, TX on September 13, 1973. She was the daughter of Larry Mayse of Alpharetta, GA and Susan (Golembeck) Nordsiek of Springfield, IL.

Heather is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Menu of Springfield, IL.; her parents and stepmother Linda Mayse; her daughter Madison Knudsen and Fiancé Fidel Pico and their two sons Easton and Kai from Abingdon, MD.; Grandmothers Dixie Mayse and Patricia Golembeck both of Springfield, IL. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles - Larry and Connie Golembeck of Petersburg, IL.; Ed and Nancy Golembeck of Springfield, IL.; Randy and Sue Mayse of Mt. Sterling, IL.; David Mayse of North Carolina and many cousins and friends.

Heather loved all animals - her dogs and cats, birds and her chickens. She especially loved horses and rode in hunter jumper equestrian shows for many years. Her passion was art and she was a very skilled and talented artist. Heather’s family loved her very much and she loved her family and friends.

Cremation services are being accorded.

Graveside services are welcome to family and friends and will be held on Friday April 5th, 2024 at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, IL in the Cemetery Chapel. Services will begin at 1:00pm (811 W Main St, Rochester, IL 62563)
