Dorothy M. Stewart Embree, 88, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at home with family.

Dorothy was born on January 18, 1928 in Springfield the daughter of Homer C. and Selma Rader Stewart.  She married Frank J. Embree; he preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed playing cards, and BINGO.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Schnirring; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Lou Reveal.

She is survived by five children, Frank (Joyce) Embree of AZ, Connie (William) Hughes, Donald (Barb) Embree, Nancy (Mike) Rush, and Vickee (Bob) Huff all of Springfield; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Ann Burkhum.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Greg Busboom officiating.
