Ethan R. Auby, 58, of Springfield, formerly of Rochester, passed away on December 13, 2017 at his home.

Ethan was born on May 24, 1959 in Decatur, the son of Lawrence and Jane O’Neil Auby.

Ethan attended Rochester High School and graduated from City Day School in Springfield in 1977, he later graduated from Mississippi State and returned to Sangamon State where he received his Masters Degree in Political Science. Ethan also enjoyed doing Civil War reenactments.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father and nephew, Max Heimowitz.

He is survived by his mother, Jane of Springfield; brother, Copeland (Marla) Auby of Springfield; sister, Siobhan Heimowitz (Companion, Mike) of Monticello, NY; nephews, Tony and Richie Auby; and niece, Sophia Heimowitz.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
