Joseph Paul Mudd

October 7, 1930 ~ January 13, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Joseph Paul Mudd, 86 of Buffalo died Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. Johns Hospice.

He was born October 7th, 1930 in Taylorville IL to the late Jess and Lucille Oliver Mudd.

Paul enjoyed farming for 70 years. He first started farming on his Great Grandpa's farm as a young boy using two horses, Molly and Polly.

When Paul decided to try his hand at farming on his own he moved closer to Nokomis and custom farmed, while staying busy baling hay and shelling corn around the Taylorville area.

Paul kept busy during the winters working as a veterinarian assistant for the late Doc McDermith's of Nokomis.

Paul and his late wife Mary Ann and children enjoyed the rodeo circuit, while Paul worked along with Mary Ann as her pickup man. Together as a family they enjoyed training horses and competing in rodeos.

In the fall of 1967 Paul and his late wife Mary Ann moved their family to Buffalo, where they along with their children and grandchildren farmed. Paul was getting ready to celebrate his 50th year farming this fall on the Hasslacher Farm.

Paul married his wife Eve in 2009 and they enjoyed farming together. Paul and Eve purchased an RV and enjoyed several years of traveling cross country, visiting family and friends, while creating memories that Paul could cherish and relive for years to come.

Paul always had an interesting story to tell about their many adventures. One of the truly wonderful attributes about Paul was he never met a stranger, always lending a helping hand to those less fortunate. Paul always had time to stop and chat with anyone that stopped by the farm while he helped many people broken down off the interstate.

Paul's legacy will always be remembered, by those that were fortunate to know and respect him, while remembering Paul's generosity to everyone, and knowing that he never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be missed by so many.
