Orville Maurice Roberts, 71, of Springfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, December 12, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Orville was born on March 31, 1946 in Monticello, KY the son of Elmer and Lydia Richardson Roberts.  His wife Edwina Marty preceded him in death on October 9, 2006.

He is survived by son, Jerry Roberts of Springfield; daughters, Keri Lyn Roberts of FL and Tracey Roberts Hague of FL; grandson, Christian Hague currently serving with the 3rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army; brothers, Odell Roberts of Pleasant Plains and Merrill Roberts of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Army serving with the Big Red One. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Roberts; and three sisters, Lois Creel, Erlene Pyle and Wilma Roberts.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Hanson officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail will conduct honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County or the USO.
