Pauline A. Rethinger, 96, of Venice, FL formerly of Springfield, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Brookdale Senior living facility.

She was born on December 1, 1919 in Clarksdale, lL. She married Lawrence Rethinger; he preceded her in death on January 24, 1965.

She retired from Pillsbury Mills after 30 years as a laboratory technician.  

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry, and several siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane (John) Farley; brothers, John Power, Jr. and Henry Cantrall; grandchildren, Jill (Jim) Grinnell, Shaun M. (Catherine) Farley and Paul Farley; great grandchildren Zachary, Riley, and Olivia; nieces, Kathy (Tony) Mohns, Mary (Larry) Troech, Ann Power, Cathy (Bill) Gilman, Barbara Rethinger Martin, Carol (Dennis) Lilla, and Marge Tessman; nephews, John Power Ill, Matthew (Jennifer) Powers, Jim Rethinger, Don (Mary) Tessman, Ed, Tom, Jim and Wayne Spann.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Church in Springfield with Reverend Steven Janoski officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
