Randall R. “Randy” Booth, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
Randy was born on October 27, 1953 in Springfield the son of Raymond Winifred and Anna Ludene (Beggs) Booth. He married Debbie Metzroth on March 9, 1974 in Springfield.
Randy was a 1971 graduate of Lanphier High School. He worked for Booth and Beggs Excavating and later for Viper Coal as a coalminer retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed stock car racing, coon hunting, and helping his nephews work on race cars. He played the Banjo, Fiddle and Mandolin and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a strong believer in his faith and was a member of First Church of God where he also served as a youth leader.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Metzroth) Booth of Springfield; daughter, Amanda (companion, Daniel Barnett) Booth of Springfield; three grandchildren; Carson Barnett, Jayden Booth and Trystin Decatoire; mother, Anna Ludene Booth; siblings, Joyce (Richard) Borrenpohl, Jack (Joleen) Booth, Rick (Faymel) Booth, Ray (Dione) Booth and Janet (Tristan) Gray; and a massive amount of nieces, nephews and cousins where Randy was a huge part of their lives.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the First Church of God. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the church with Pastor Jay Kroft and Reverend Shaughneysy Small officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
