Renate Giesela Haager, 74, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Bethesda East Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL.

Renate was born the daughter of Wolfgang and Babette Gang of Furth, Germany, and is survived by three sons: Tony of Fairfax Station, VA; Kurt of Springfield, IL; and Dieter of Gainesville, FL.

She also has three grandchildren and numerous relatives in both the United States and Germany. Renate was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband, Myron Haager. Renate had a successful professional career throughout numerous positions, the last of which spanned 20 years with the State of Illinois. She retired in 2008 to Lake Worth, FL to spend her time basking in the sun with loved ones.

She was an avid traveler, spending weeks and months annually traveling throughout Europe with family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting loved ones throughout the US, and regularly had visitors with her at her home in Lake Worth. Renate was a very loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all.

She was honest, generous, and caring to all she encountered. She spent much of her time giving back to her community, primarily through volunteer work and donations to local food banks and veterans groups. She is loved by many, and will be remembered by more.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home in Springfield, IL.
