Robert E. “Bob” Fryhoff, 91, of Rochester, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. John’s Hospice.
Bob was born on December 31, 1924 in Kirksville, MO the son of Roy E. and Lona M. Rose Fryhoff. He married Margaret H. "Peg" Rape on January 8, 1949 at Asbury Methodist Church and they have been married for 67 years.
Bob was a graduate of Lanphier High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was shot and captured in the Battle of the Bulge and was a Prisoner of War before being liberated.
He worked for Henson Robinson Company and retired after over 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jane Warren; two sons-in-law, Mark Stice and Scott Edgar.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg"; daughters, Debora "Debbie" Stice of Ashland and Robin Edgar of Springfield; sister, Judy (Mike) Ashton of UT; grandson, Brach (Jennifer) Stice of Ashland; granddaughter, Stephanie (Mark) Ballinger of Springfield; five great-grandchildren; one nephew; and several nieces.
Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Vaughn Beeman and Pastor Mike Jakaitis officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail will conduct honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. John’s Hospital Hospice Program or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
