Jo Anna Elaine Rentschler, 46, of Dawson, was welcomed through the gates of Heaven on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center.
Jo Anna aws born on May 13, 1975, in Springfield, the daughter of Fred and Marilyn (Bowman) Rentschler. She graduated from Tri-City High School, Eastern Illinois University and Valparaiso Law School.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred. She is survived by her mother, Marilyn; brother, Frederic "Otto" (Leigh Ann) Rentschler; nephews, Nolan and Frederic Rentschler; niece, Ceeney Rentschler and Duke, her beloved Collie.
Jo Anna was many things. She was an avid learner, ingenious, and caring, but above all else she was an amazing Aunt. Jo Anna always made sure that "the kids" always had everything they wanted and needed. She took them on adventures and planned a full week of mailbox surprises leading up to their birthdays. Hours upon hours were spent at the kitchen table working on math and spelling words. The lives of her nephews and niece will forever be better because of the time they were able to spend with her.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery with Pastor Michael Koschmann officiating. A Celebration of life will be held around her birthday in May.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tri-City Band Boosters, Riverton Lutheran Church, or the Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different, because I was important in the life of a child." Forrest Witchcraft, excerpt from "Within My Power".
Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home, 200 S. Church Street, in Mechanicsburg is in charge of arrangements.
