Patricia D Thompson

Patricia D Thompson, 87, of Springfield, IL passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

Patricia was born in Springfield on July 13, 1935 and was the daughter of Virgil W. and Dorothy M. Thompson.

From the time she was a young woman, Patricia stayed at home to help raise her niece and nephew. She was like a second mother to her sister Pricilla’s children. She loved them dearly. Beyond her family she was devoted to God and her church. She was a dedicated member of Grace Baptist Church in Springfield, IL.   

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; as well as two brothers, Virgil and Vaughn Thompson and two sisters, Cheryl Thompson and Priscilla Beal.

She is survived by her niece and nephew, Kathy (Beal) Witherell of Chatham, and Robert (Crystal) Beal of Riverton; as well as several extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 2, 2023 from 9:00am -10:00am at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702. A funeral ceremony will take place at 10:00am and a burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where Patricia will be laid to rest.

Pastor Thad Peacock will be presiding.
