Carrell Coe Obituary

Carrell E. Coe of Dawson, known to family and friends as "Doc," passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Heritage Health Hospice in Springfield, IL.

Doc was born to Robert E. and Margaret E. Burge on November 19, 1947.  He graduated from Tri-City High School in 1965.  He married Margaret “Peggy” Scanlan in 1978. 

Doc spent most of his career in transportation.  He worked for many years at Bunn Capitol and was a Logistics Specialist for Ruan Transportation until he retired in 2014.

Doc enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing the organ, fishing, golfing and watching drag racing.  He continually had projects including building and renovating houses, decorating driveways, and repairing whatever was broken.  He was always the first to help someone in need. 

Doc is survived by his wife of 40 years; daughter, Mary (Brad) Ratliff-Babcook of Chatham; son David (Sara) Coe of Imperial, MO; and 5 grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Carr. 

Visitation will be Saturday, October 6th from 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Community Fellowship Church in Buffalo, IL with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating.

Memorial donations in memory of Doc can be made to Mechanicsburg Cemetery or Grace Community Fellowship.
