David Dewayne Hicks

David Dewayne Hicks, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his residence.

David was born on May 3, 1955 in St. Louis, MO the son of James and Faye Alexander Hicks.  He married Linda Hinds on September 22, 1990.

David worked as a mechanic and detailer for various car dealers including, Guiffre, Payne Auto Sales and Crossroads Auto Sales.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR and car shows and going fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hicks of Springfield; three daughters, Shelley (Mike) Hicks-Wheeler of Cerro Gordo, IL, Shannon (John Allen) Hicks of Springfield and Haley (Saxon Ewing) Hicks of Springfield; grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler, Lathan Hicks, Jason Wheeler, Gabrielle Wheeler, Madison Hicks, Harley Hicks, Raegan Hicks and Baby Ewing; siblings, Clyde Richard Hicks of Springfield, Danny K. (Judy) Hicks of Chatham,  Darrell W. (Connie) Hicks of Springfield, Dennis Joe (Linda Sue) Hicks of Buffalo, IL, and Derlie (Gary) Davis of Springfield;

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Dan Hilliard officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
