Lorene Emma Schrenk

Lorene Emma Schrenk, 91, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Village.

Lorene was born on May 16, 1927 in Elkhart the daughter of Hugo and Bertha Martha Wilhemina (Arndt) Baumhardt.  She married Paul William Schrenk on September 10, 1949 in Bowling Green, MO; he preceded her in death on February 15, 1992.

She started the kindergarten program at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1957 and retired in 1989 after 32 years.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Walter and Rudolph Baumhardt; and three sisters, Ida Schoeneberg, Alma Waller and Dorothy Knox.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Schrenk; one son, Wayne Edward Schrenk; three grandchildren, Aaron Paul, Ryan Matthew, and Rebecca Aubrey Schrenk; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Isabella Mitchell; sister-in-law, Editha Baumhardt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Additional visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend James Stuenkel officiating.  Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
