Joseph Lee Wall

Joseph Lee Wall, 72, of Springfield, IL passed away at his home on Thursday July 21, 2022 in the company of his family.

Joe was born in Springfield at St. John’s Hospital on February 6, 1950. He is the son of Robert and Pelagia (Bella) Wall.

He was a graduate of Lanphier High School and served as an Altar Boy at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church here in Springfield. He retired from the United States Postal Service after many years as a letter carrier. He served on the board for Financial Partners Credit Union and served as President.  

Joe’s joy was his 3 acre farm in Edinburg. He loved driving tractors to cut hay, bale it, and load it up. The chickens he swore he would never have on his farm, got their house delivered by Tuxhorn.

He is survived by his wife, Debra (Karrick) Wall; his children, Kelly Wall, Jennifer Wall, Kelly Fromm, Charlene Brinkley, Adam Gentry, Ryan Gentry, Richard Gentry; his first wife, Janice Day; numerous Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren; brother, Thomas Wall (Gail) and sisters, Betsy Jones and Mary Perry (Jim); and his four-legged friend Dingo.

Joe was preceded in death by his Mother and Father; sister, Maggie Page (Tom) and niece, Shannon Scott.

Cremation services will be accorded.

A Celebration of Life is being held on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702. Friends may call on the family from 2:00pm till 4:00pm when the services will conclude.
