Obituary
Marilyn J. Garland, 72, of Chatham, IL passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Sunday February 5, 2023.
Marilyn was born in Springfield on May 10, 1950 and was the daughter of Truman and June (Clement) Fry. She married Dennis M. Garland, and he survives.
She worked for the Franklin Life/ American General Insurance for more than 30 years. She was currently working for the Goodwill Boutique in Chatham. She had made lots of friends while working there.
Marilyn was known by all that knew her to be the kindest and most sincere person that anyone could meet. She always saw the best in people. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Marilyn would also collect PEZ Candy Dispensers and Paperweights.
Along with her husband, Marilyn is survived by her son, Shane Wallace of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Gristy of Chatham, Nick Wallace of Springfield, Shayne Wallace of Springfield, Tyler Dougherty of Springfield, Susie Dougherty of Springfield, and Sean Wallace of Springfield; sister, Anna Polistina of Sherman; nieces, Chelsea and Dakota Fry of Chicago; and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Fry.
Cremation Services are being performed by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life will be held at a Later Date.
