William "Bill" Bercaw Obituary


William (Bill) Walter Bercaw, 59, of Springfield, Illinois passed away on November 12,
2022 after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. Bill was born on January 13, 1963 in
Chicago, Illinois to Berry Weber Bercaw and Mary Carolyn Williams Bercaw who
proceeded him in death. Bill married Crystal Blakley Bercaw on January 14, 1994 in
Chicago Heights, Illinois. Bill is survived by his wife, Crystal; a daughter, Katelyn
Bercaw of Ivins, Utah; a son, Benjamin Bercaw of Little Rock Arkansas; a sister, Cindy
Bercaw of Eastlake, Ohio and his two beloved dogs, Norm and Max.

Bill served with the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. After graduating from
Millikin University with a degree in Marketing, he pursued a career in law enforcement
retiring from the Illinois State Police Technical Investigations Unit. Bill loved spending
time with his family traveling and all things outdoors especially enjoying the Boundary
Waters in Ely, MN. He was also passionate about wood working and custom made all
the cabinetry for their Minnesota home on Farm Lake. Bill was also known for his witty
dry sense of humor. He will be missed by many family and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 9:30 am with the Funeral Service
starting at 11:00 am. All services will be held at Rochester Christian Church in
Rochester, Illinois with Pastor Brad Ferris officiating. Memorials can be made to
Rochester Christian Church in Rochester, IL or Camp Voyageur, PO Box 420, Ely MN
55731. Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester, Illinois are in charge of the
arrangements.
